Transverse phase diffusion in Rayleigh-Bénard convection
2014 By a formal expansion in gradient of the phase variable we obtain the equations governing the relaxation of zig-zags. The application has been developed for convection close to the threshold. We use an 03B5-expansion of the solution for the realistic case of no slip (rigid) velocity boundary conditions. We obtain : D~ = 03BE20/03C40 (03B4k/kc + F(Pr) 03B4Ra/Rac) where the numerical values ...
متن کاملDouble phase-conjugate mirror: convection and diffraction
Development of scattered radiation in the geometry of a double phase-conjugate mirror is investigated numerically in the framework of a two-dimensional model that accounts for both diffraction and noncollinearity of the interacting beams. The large-scale structure of the scattered beams is found to be distorted because of the convective flow of energy out of the interaction region. We show that...
متن کاملNonlinear filtering in digital phase sensitive demodulation
Abstract. The phase sensitive demodulation has been widely used in many applications, e.g. impedance measurement, communication, sonar and radar systems. In most cases, white noise is assumed for system analysis and improvement. However, impulsive noise is frequently encountered in many applications, which imposes great challenges in these systems. The paper presents a novel nonlinear filter me...
متن کاملFiltering interferometric phase images by anisotropic diffusion
We present an anisotropic diffusion equation designed to restore interferometric images. It has two main purposes. the first is to preserve the structures and discontinuities formed by the fringes. The second is to incorporate the noise modeling which is specific to this kind of images. Besides we show that our model formalizes previous related work in interferometry filtering.
متن کاملFinite Element Methods for Convection Diffusion Equation
This paper deals with the finite element solution of the convection diffusion equation in one and two dimensions. Two main techniques are adopted and compared. The first one includes Petrov-Galerkin based on Lagrangian tensor product elements in conjunction with streamlined upwinding. The second approach represents Bubnov/Petrov-Galerkin schemes based on a new group of exponential elements. It ...
